First Grade

Info for parents:

1.  1st grade is preparing the school Mass on March 18.

2.  The class will be singing songs at Mercy McMahon on March 22 as our Lenten service project.  Words to the songs will be sent home this week. 

Work for the week of March 8-12:

Religion:  Ch. 20  We Love Others

3rd week of Lent:  making good choices, a time of forgiveness and making peace 

Stations of the Cross:  every Friday during Lent

Faith Concepts:   the 4th -10th Commandments, respecting others and what belongs to them, respecting ourselves and our belongings, honesty and truthfulness

Scripture:  Matthew 5:37; John 14:6 

Prayer:  a prayer of intercession

begin learning hymns for 1st grade mass   

Math:  continue Ch. 7  Geometry

roll, slide, and stack

slides (moves a figure along a line) and flips (turns a figure over)

     re-read a sentence or page if you lose focus

     remember new words used repetitively in a story

     ask yourself questions about the story
